ABOUT BURNFREE

BURNFREE products are creating a new standard for the first aid treatment of burn injuries and for emergency fire rescue and escape situations.
BURNFREE products are for first aid use on injuries including burns, cuts, scrapes, and abrasions. The product line has a unique formulation designed to provide a stable gel system. BURNFREE gel relieves pain by cooling the burn injury, stopping the burning process, and helping to minimize the depth of the burn wound (burn progression.) All BURNFREE products are sterile, non-irritating, cooling and soothing, bacteriostatic, and are completely water soluble. BURNFREE is a superior alternative to tap water, in the first aid cooling of burn injuries. When applied early to a burn wound, BURNFREE products will relieve pain, stop the burning process and help to minimize the depth of the burn wound. Even if applied 30 minutes after the burn injury occurs, BURNFREE will provide relief from pain and soothe the wound.

STERILE BURN DRESSINGS
BURNFREE Sterile Burn Dressings are designed for first aid use on all types of burn injuries. The dressings are constructed of a special, soft, open-cell foam saturated with the BURNFREE solution. Burnfree dressings have several beneficial physical characteristics such as:
o Efficiently cover the burned area and yet elastic enough to accomodate possible swelling or the need to flex joints.
o They are light, easily transportable sterile dressings. A single application of this dressing is an effective first-aid measure on burns.
o The foam's high absorption capabilities allow complete delivery of the gel to the burn site.
o Burnfree dressings are non-adherent and the inert foam base will not shed threads, strands, fibers, etc., that might become embedded in the wound.
o The moist Burnfree solution facilitates easy removal for inspection and treatment of the injured area. The gel leaves no residue. It can easily be removed with water during normal debridement.
Using Burnfree Dressings
When medical assistance is not immediately available, using Burnfree dressings, along with the outer packaging for further protection, helps the wound area to remain moist for many hours. Utilizing this system also provides physical protection to the wound against further damage and contamination.
The smaller Burnfree dressings are ideal for hands and smaller areas. The larger dressings are large enough to receive and treat a hand, foot, arm, or leg.
Burnfree dressings can be used in the following ways:
o Remove the dresssing from the package and apply directly to the wound. Secure lightly.
o Use the package as an outer cover around the injured area. Open the top of the package, insert the injured area into the package with the dressing applied lightly to the wound. Secure the package lightly. This method often facilitates easier, less traumatic application with minimum contamination of the sterile dressing.
Burnfree Sterile Burn Dressings can be used to reduce the pain and trauma of wounds from fires, flames, scalds, chemical, and electrical injuries. However, with chemical burns, the wound must be thoroughly irrigated, and neutralized, before using the gel. With electrical burns, the current must be turned off before using the gel since the Burnfree solution is water-based and conducts electricity.

BURNFREE PAIN RELIEVING GEL
Burnfree Pain Relieving Gel is available in different sizes and configurations. This gel is ideal for all minor burns. (Note: Minor burns are defined as those in which the skin has not been penetrated or broken.) It is the same solution found in the sterile burn dressings and sterile fire/trauma blankets.
When using Burnfree Pain Relieving Gel, gently apply a liberal amount to the injured area without rubbing it into the wound. In order for the gel to be fully effective, it is necessary to apply a thick layer over the damaged area.
The dressings are more appropriate for larger and more serious burns. Since the open-cell foam dressings will maintain a thick covering of gel on the burn, they are a more efficient means of covering the area
Burnfree Pain Relieving Gel can be used to reduce the pain and trauma of wounds from fires, flames, scalds, chemical, and electrical injuries. However, with chemical burns, the wound must be thoroughly irrigated, and preferably neutralized, before using the gel. With electrical burns, the current must be turned off before using the gel since the Burnfree solution is water-based and conducts electricity.

HYDROGEL SURVIVAL FIRE/TRAUMA BLANKETS
Burnfree Hydrogel Survival Fire/Trauma Blankets are designed for emergency and industrial use as first aid for burns and also to provide physical protection from heat, fire, and smoke.
The blankets are made of a pure virgin wool, woven with a unique interlinking cell construction. The special construction, in conjunction with the wool fiber, allows the blanket to hold up to 14 times its weight of the Burnfree solution.
Using Burnfree Fire/Trauma Blankets
Burnfree Fire/Trauma Blankets provide physical protection from fires. When draped over the head and body, fire-resistant Burnfree blankets are a protective shield for a rescuer or a person trapped by fire. The blankets also can be thrown over a burning area to extinguish flames and thereby create an escape route.
For immediate first aid treatment, the blankets can be wrapped around a person whose clothes are burning or who has sustained a burn injury. Burnfree blankets will instantly extinguish fires, while at the same time, wetting and cooling the fuel, which is usually clothing. This use of Burnfree blankets reduces physiological and psychological trauma by providing immediate cooling, soothing, and moistening of the burn.
Burnfree blankets can be used to reduce the pain and trauma of wounds from fires, flames, scalds, chemical, and electrical injuries. However, with chemical burns, the wound must be thoroughly irrigated, and preferably neutralized, before using the blanket. With electrical burns, the current must be turned off before using the blanket since the Burnfree solution is water-based and conducts electricity.
Burnfree blankets can be used to extinguish fires, including pan or grease fires which occur in the kitchen. Before using for this purpose, turn off the electricity or gas. Place the blanket over the fire in a motion away from the body. After waiting for several minutes, the blanket can be removed.
The Burnfree Hydrogel Survival Fire/Trauma Blanket system has other benefits including:
o The Burnfree Sterile Hydrogel Survival Fire/Trauma Blanket is packed in a durable, flexible barrel bag with sealable double zip openers. The bag's flexibility makes it comfortable to carry. It also has a handle strap to hang the bag from the shoulder or around the body, freeing the hands.
o All our blankets are sterile. Burnfree is the only company to offer sterile hydrogel products of this size.
